Our Services

Shared Support Maryland, Inc. provides support through person-directed planning and organizational change to individuals with all levels of disability. SSMD provides a wide range of personalized support and services to people that include those who perhaps are typically referred to as people with severe or profound disabilities. Regardless of disability, people have the right to the quality of life that they define; it is through Shared Support Maryland, Inc. that the Support Brokers are paid by the customers to help them to obtain it.

Shared Support Maryland, Inc. does not operate day programs, sheltered workshops, or group homes. Individuals choose their living situations, roommates, and staff. Individuals can choose what they would like to do during the day, evenings, and weekends. This makes planning and implementation difficult at moments, yet in the long run, people are satisfied with their lives and the support they pay for.

Support Brokerage

A Support Broker is someone who coaches and mentors people who choose to self-direct their Developmental Disability Administration (DDA) services. Support brokers specifically coach and mentor people with their responsibility of employer and budget authority.
